When I turn my AC on the disk that's run by the belt spins for 5 seconds then shuts off and then 5 seconds later it starts spinning again. I've tried replacing the fuse but that didn't solve it. There's also a tick whenever it starts up, but that might be normal. What else could be the problem?
Also could what ever this problem is cause interference with my stereo?

Sorry for the vague description, hopefull someone knows what I'm talking about.

Time for a refrigerant recharge! Try a search. There are bunches of posts on recharging. I believe Ford switched from R-12 to R-134a in 93, so I am unsure which type you will need. Either case, I would fill with a R-134a refill kit available at any auto parts store or WalMart. Very simple to do.

You also could have a defective cycling switch/low pressure switch. Is the a/c getting cold even while it's cycling on and off? If you have access to some a/c gauges, hook them up and watch the low pressure gauge. the cycling switch is supposed to shut off at 25 psi. If the compressor is kicking out at a higher pressure, the cycling switch is bad. If not then you need a recharge. The switch is located on the accumulator just in front of the firewall on the passenger side.
