AC problems

So, 2009 ford explorer.
We've recently replaced our compressor, charged the system, and checked the fuses. It only sometimes blows cold air and not for long at that. The fuses are all good from what we checked, and we know its not the blower door. Along with that, new egr but theres an issue with the engine finding a place to idle. It chugs at a stop. We think its all one electrical issue but we don't know where to start.

Ok here we go. was the compressor replaced for a bad clutch or was it internal damage? v6 or v8? Does the car have rear ac and does it work?

On the the idle problem have you been checking the egr value and o2 values with a scantool at idle and while driving? Was the idle doing the same thing before you changed the egr.

So if you think its an electrical problem you will need a complete wiring diagram and connector location info. I dont know for sure but alldata diy should have them for the DIYer. You will probally need some special electrical testing equiptment but a digital volt meter may het you started. Actually testing for problems electrical problems I am lost but there are some great youtube channels that can show you how diagnose different electrical problems. Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics (PHAD) does a great job and South Main Auto Repair i have not watched but have watched other channels that recommend him.

v6, we replaced the compressor because I guess we thought it was internal, the car has rear ac yes, and it's blowing warm like the front.
To the idle, we havent checked while driving but I definitely will, the idle was wonky before we replaced it too. We think a vacuum line may have broken in the process.
