SO far...One new transmission, 3 sets of cam tensioners

AND now..new AC filter dryer, HOWEVER

I am still getting an annoying clicking from the AC
compressor for the past year and some months. The dealer tech checked the AC system and found nothing wrong and says it is normal. This click goes everything few seconds I have the AC turned on and the RPMs goes up and down with the clicks. If this is normal why didn't it start when I bought the vehicle new. It took 1.5 years for this to appear. After what I have been through I am getting paranoid and losing my confidence in this vehicle.

Question: Is this AC compressor clicking every few seconds (3 to 5) truly normal?

This is normal operation for the AC system. The compressor will operate in all but two positions of the AC switch. It will go on and off as long as outside temperature is over 55 degrees, don't quote me on this setting. There is nothing to worry about, Explorers are excellent vehicles. I own one since 1995.

Mine has clicked on and off as well. Think it's fairly normal. However, the cycle time will decrease if you have lost freon. You may want to have the freon levels double checked just in case. Welcome to the site!
