I added the autozone shackles today, which gave it a nice look, but now the rear feels lighter. Is this normal?? I have not added the coil spacers in the front as of yet, but the stance it has now looks really tough. Is this the reason its feeling lighter? Due to the weight being distributed more to the front?

Ok,
So nobody knows.

I haven't put my shackles on yet but I can't imagine how it would make the rear feel lighter...unless you mean that you're getting more body roll on tight curves, which WOULD make sense because the autozone shackles don't have a cross brace like the stockers do...if this is your problem, you could weld a cross brace on (ghetto warrior shackles) or bolt some galvanized pipe tightly in the middle as a brace (what I plan to do)...

Warriors have a cross-brace welded in..... I would step it up to those... only about 60 bucks and much more reliable than the autozone ones.:)

You can play some games with tire pressure. Lower pressure more sidewal flex and less spring, higher pressure less sidwall flex more spring.

Good tip, thanks man!

Just remember incorrect tire pressure will cause the tires to wear incorrectly. In theory lifting the back with out lifting the front will throw your caster off but i dont think the shackles are enough to make a difference. do you feel it most around turns? if so it's probably the autozone shackles, definantly spend the few extra bucks for the warrior shackles theyre much higher quality, those autozone shackles are garbage.

No there seems to be no problem around turns so far. I just seem to spin tires on wet pavement more than i did before the shackles. Could just be me tho. Also Im getting the 1.5" coil spacers this week so all should be even.

It could also be your shocks, some seem to have issues with operating outside a certain range in thier travel, I've heard of some people saying this edelbrock IAS shocks but im sure it could apply to other brands/models as well. The shackles shouldnt affect traction expecially on the road.

Yea, i did find some moisture leaking from both rear shocks so they will need to be replaced. So thats probably it. Thanks Doug!
