I'm thinking about swapping the factory gauges for white face, seeing as to how the dark@$$ window tint makes it all but impossible to see them with the windows up....
It would be great to have silver gauges ( like those found in current nissan sentras) to match my aluminum trim, but I doubt I'll find any.

Anyone know of a white face gauge where the light shines on it from the front, illuminating the whole face and not just the numbers? Also, it's got to be green lit!
>not too picky, am i?>
thanks!

picky??? nahhhhh!!!

uhh, have you looked into the indiglo-style guages?

Fixer, check out these two sites: Nu Image and Dead Link Removed

I've talked to both and they are able to make custom gauges for the Explorer, they might be able to do what you want.

i'm not looking for diferent guages, but i thought that the indiglo-type stuff might be simpler than front lit white/green.

i think i've seen a almost white electroluminescent guage that glowed either blue or green, i just don't remember where.

i'll be happy then i add a REAL oil presure and tranny temp guage.

Oh yeah!

Now I just have to get some of those naked chick guage faces from Nu Image. I'm sure my wife would love those!

if i got those i think my girlfriend would injure me.

Lol! Actually, I've saw something similar to that on a heavily customized Harley Davidson once......the guy had a naked chic on every piece of painted metal, and another one on his speedometer. I couldn't tell if he was trying to make up for being inadequately equipped below the beltline or what. hmmn, then again, I wonder if I should get some hot fella on my gauges......:D

They have the idiglo gauges on ebay all the time. Like 50 - 65 bucks. Im going to get a pair. I put some in my girlfriends 99 civic and they look great. They are pretty simple to install. But no matter what anyone tells you or the instructions say DONT remove the needles!! They should slide over them.
