I spent a couple of weeks looking for seats to replace the front cloth buckets in my 1993 Explorer. Although the seat fabric is in very good condition, the person I bought the truck from was a very large woman that pretty much smash the drivers seat flat (especially in the left thigh/hip area). I went to a couple different Pick and Pull type auto recyclers and to be honest, their seats were a disaster. Getting my seats re-done at an upholstery shop would get pricing and I'd still have a 27 year old seat assembly.
At this point I think I'm just going to replace the front seats with an aftermarket buckets. I don't care if it is cloth or vinyl...manual adjustment is fine but the seat must have a recline feature. I've done a search on this forum but without too much luck.
Anybody have any experience with aftermarket buckets and most importantly, the bolt in seat brackets to make them fit? Any input would be appreciated.
