Search didn't come up with anything. Being that my factory changer is toast in my 96 Limited. I would like to put my Kenwood tuner( non powered) in so I have CD. Is there a way to use an aftermarket tuner with the full JBL system. Being that the factory head looks to be just a controller, With all the guts in the back.

I will eventualy be putting in a full system but not for a while.

No there is not. They do not make a connector for aftermarket to the Sub. The rest will be fine though, but it will have a real "tinny" sound if you do not use a good powered deck. You will have to take the side panel off in the back and disconnect the sub too..

I always ran new speaker wire to avoid the headache, but there are amp bypass kits as far as I know that will bypass the factory amps in the back, and yes I said amps, becuase you will lose your factory woofer.

ProjectAviator, I have a 6 disc cd changer from my 97 explorer, dont know if it works with a 96 though. Make me an offer. Its fully functional.

If you really wanted to you could splice your preouts into your factory amp, all you would have to do is put an rca on the outputs from the hu.

That is what I was thinking.

As for rewiring I plan in it eventualy but I it is when I put the full system in. Not sure if I am using the factory locations. I may use all custom mounting locations. I don't want to have to wire it twice.

Is it from the JBL system or doesn't it matter with the changer?

What are you looking to get out of it?? Shoot me a PM

Real easy to do, just find out the wire colors for your outputs and hook them up to your preouts.
