Hi All,
I recently purchased a 97 explorer and was told i needed to get the a/c system re-gassed. I called specialist who came to my house and refilled the system. however one refilled it started leaking. Pulling the foam cover off the accumulator revealed that it was quite badly rotted therefore leaking gas. Soo, I'm going to need a replacement unit. Now enquiring at dealerships in the UK reveal that a replacement is going to cost a lot of money, so I was wondering if our US based friends ever come across these units in their scrap yards.
I'm told by the a/c specialist that these parts are either called. Accumulators, A/C filters or Collectors.
Can anyone help me.. And please no jokes about the need for aircon in the uk
Kindest Regards
Dean
