Hey Guys, This is my first post here. Was just curious what you guys think of stock air ride. I have a 97 EB 5.0 AWD. The shocks are starting to leak. Would it be wise to just do away with them and get a conversion kit? And if thats the case is the ride gonna change? Just curious for input.

Thanks,
Beast

My '97 Limited had air ride and the shock part was thoroughly worn out.
Air ride replacement shocks are very expensive and don't have enough damping control for me so I got Bilstein B6 all 'round.

One day if I feel like it and think it's necessary I'll fit some sort of air lift bags alongside the Billies and get the best of both worlds.

I got a limited as a parts truck and put the air shocks on my XLT. I didn't install the pump, just a Shrader valve. I inflate them with my compressor to 110psi while fully loaded with tools. And may 80psi when empty. I enjoy their comfy ride and leveling ability while loaded and towing. (Cars) Highly recommend!

Thanks for the input. Ive decided to do a dual shock mod (my own design) on the front and bags in the back. Will be starting this mod in a couple months. Ill do a write up when I have everything working and riding well.

I used Air Lift bags from a full size Bronco into last Mounty when hauling extreme tongue weight (upwards of 700 pounds). Made a huge different. Empty I used to run them around 20 pounds, and liked the extra firmness.
