You will wanna start at the dealership....Get rid of the 4WD Explorer, and trade it in on a 2WD.

will it be impossible to do with a 4WD? and i dont think a dealership will take a straight up trade like that

CAN it be done...sure.

But it does involve buying A LOT of a 2WD Explorer.

If you plan on lowering it with airbags, yeah, you'll need a 2WD.

The 91-94 4WD's won't go down more than a few inches due to the front drivetrain.

Besides, they make bolt-ons to slam the 2WDs to the ground, throw on airbags and you're set.

Umm...NO they don't....I have a 5/6 drop on my 2WD Explorer, but I still have plenty of travel, and ground clearance...not exactly 'on the ground'...

2" drop springs
3" I-beam
3" De-arched Leaf Springs
3" Block
WHile these parts are 'BOLT-ON'...they don't work well with out a C-notch. I had to cut a 4.5" C-notch in the frame.

On top of the suspension parts, you will also need a new Transmission....
