Don't know if this is the right forum or not

recently my key Fob quit working for the door locks. The remote starter and alarm still arm just doesn't work the door locks.

Info: alarm is a viper 600 series.I have read on how to reprogram it but its kinda a foreign language.

Other then buying another alarm system any Ideas out there to "reset" the Fob?

Has anyone else experienced this dilema?

Any idea's on how to fix this?

do the locks still work with the factory switches?

if so there should be a fuse on the lock relays. its sounds like this maybe have blown. expecially if both lock and unlock dont work from the viper remote.

Thats whats puzzling. The door locks still work by pushing the button inside the cab but not with the remote. The alarm still operates and remote starter still works also.Fuses were my first assumption guess I must have missed one.

Are you sure its a viper 600?? the reason i ask is the 600 didnt have the remote start built in. It was an addon for that it.

On a 600 if you can find the alarm there is going to be a 2 larger harnesses. 1-12 pin and another 1-6 (or 8, cant remember off hand) pin. on the 6 pin side there will be two purple wires with fuses in them this is the fuses that you need to check. i believe they are either 10 or 15amp. If these fuses are still good, then with this alarm its an internal problem with the alarm.

now if you may have a 550 which had the remote start built on. then the door locks are a little different. they have a (+-) low voltage output that in your vehicle (92?) you will need relays for. or there may have been an "all-in-1" relay called a 451m from dei. With this there is also the purple wires that is fused, check that. if thats good check the output (thin green, blue) make sure they are being triggered from the alarm. make sure the thin red on this harness had 12v also.

the enclosed link is a pic of the 451m

I have a 550.just crawled underneath the dash to see the brain.Does the secondary relays have fuses also? I have located the two fuses one 10 and 15 that goes to the brain but guess I need to continue the search for the ones on the relay

on that link i included. you can kind of see that litte 3 pin harness. something like this should be pluged into the alarm (usually on the side of it) trace the wires where they go to. they should be going to either little relay pack like in that pic also or it will be a 2 relays together. If installed correctly they should be fused.

If the fuese are good. then it could be the relays. if they are good it could be the output from the alarm.

im betting its the fuese or relay.
