'97 Sport
Hello everyone. I just found this forum, so I figured I'd ask a few questions about my exploder. :)

I've got a '97 sport. I never did anything at all to it for the first 4 years I had it. I just put a new engine in, the same 4.0 that came in it, but from a '98. It only has 13k on it! I've also put in a new front diff, and some other stuff.

Well, now that I fixed all the stuff that I abused in the past, and my explorer is almost paid off, I'm ready to do it up nice. :) I already got headers, K&N cold air induction, throttle body spacer, and put in a straight pipe instead of that huge muffler for exhast. It sounds so much better, and has great throttle response.

What I want to work on now, is the look mostly. My interior is so beat. The center console is all ripped up from the sun, so I need to find a new one. Where the hell do I find that? My seats arent to bad, but some nice sitting seat covers would be perfect. Is there new carpet kits for the floor?

As for the outside, I'd like to lift up my explorer. I've heard that the 97's are really hard to lift (suspension), so for right now I'll do a 3" body lift. I'd like to run a 32" or 33" Goodyear MTR, but I'm not sure if that would fit. I'd like to get a brush guard and some auxillary lights...

Where the hell do I find all this stuff? :\ I've seen some of the Explorer Express site, but is that it? This is the best selling SUV out there right? There should be tons of stuff, why cant I find anything?

Thanks!

Jason

Welcome Jason!

You can find seats, consoles, and covers on eBay! It can be your best friend.

As for carpet, check out www.headlinerkit.com . A member here has one of their kits installed and is happy with it.

As for a body lift.. you'll want a Performance Accessories 3" body lift for a 95-97 Ranger. You'll have to fab up some bumper brackets though. I'm running 33" MT/Rs with a body lift and a 2" torsion twist. Check out my website in my signature (down below) for more info on my ride. Also, you can seach this site for tooons of information about all these things you asked about.

Good luck!

thanks

thanks! I love your explorer, looks great! how does it ride?

Welcome Jason. Keep an eye on the for sale forum, all kinds of stuff. Use the search feature for a torsion twist, shackels and add a leaf, to find out all you need to know about lifting your X. Good luck and enjoy!
