Alpine Head Unit

I recently bought a 7893 from someone online, but the unit was used. It worked perfectly fine for 2 days, then the following morning I get in my Ex and there is no sound at all. I checked and double checked all connections and fuses, everything is fine, so I go to eject the cd and it just beeps, nothing happens, so I start hitting buttons randomly, and some work while others do nothing except beep, nothing is running off of the internal amp, im running all my door speakers off one amp and the sub off of another, anybody have any idea what the problem could be? any help would be GREATLY appreciated, Thanks

Sounds like you are going to have to pull it and send it in to Alpine and let them repair it. Out of curiosity, did you buy it through E-Bay?

no, i actually bought it from a guy on another forum, theres a receiver on ebay that doesnt have the face plate and says that it was tested, so i think i might try to pick that up and hope for the best.

That sounds like a decent solution, good luck, I really like my alpine HU and wouldn't part with it..... at least anytime soon...

i had the same head unit and it did the same to me some thing on the inside gets messed up i sent it in and now it works fine but i had to up grade to a alpine mp3

try cleaning the HU faceplate contacts(the metal where it connects to the reciever.) dont know if it will help, but couldnt hurt....

my93x, was yours covered under warranty, or did you end up having to pay to get it fixed, and how much? just curious.

Mine was covered under warranty i only had it a month or two

I had that same player but sold it last year for $100. I now have the 9813 so I would have mp3 capability....will never go without it.
