Amsoil or Regular Ford?

Hello

I want to take my car in to change its transmission oil, the mechanic told me he charges $150 for Ford Mercon V ATF and $175 for Amsoil Synthetic. Is the Amsoil worth going for? or it makes no difference if I change my fluid regularly? My car is a 97 Explorer with 150 000 Miles on it.

Amsoil is good quality stuff. I don't know if i would wait as long as they say you can, i never have. I use amsoil fluids, and have never had an issue.

How much millage does your car have? and how often do you change your transmission fluid?

My ex had over 240 grand on it. Changed tranny every 180 days. (fluid)

I would recommend going with the Amsoil ATF.
