Hi.
My name is Russ Osborne. I just bought a 97 Sport Trac Saturday. I hadn't intended to, but I needed to get something right away and this is what worked out.
It isn't in horrible shape. Rocker panels are rusted away on both sides, but other than that not much rust. Runs good so far. I had to fix the headlight switch, the mounting points had broken on the dash panel. Didn't know that at first, so I bought a new switch. Installed it anyway since I was there. Drilled through the panel and used a couple of number 6 machine screws to mount it, so now it isn't going anywhere. This problem got me $100 off of the price, so I bought the Hayne's manual and the switch and a can of R134, and still came out with some cash left.
Have a few questions I need to search on before asking, they are probably common, but this is my first Explorer so it is all new to me.
Not new to car stuff, currently have a 1970 Pontiac Lemans project going on that will end up as a sort of GTO clone. I wanted a GTO, used to own one, but the prices have gotten ridiculus anymore.
Thanks,
Russ
