Just thought I would introduce myself. I just got a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Track. I'm happy with it so far but I want to lift it already. My old truck was a 2002 F-150 with a 3"bodylift and 2"suspension lift and 34" superswamper ltb's. I am hoping to get 31s on my ST. How much lift would I need for that? Is a spring over conversion hard? What do I need to do it? Thanks for any help in advance.

Could probably fit them stock, if not a tt and shackle lift.

Well if 31s will fit stock then I want 33s. The wife (it's her DD) has given me permission to lift it a little bit so I am wanting to get a few inches. What are the dissadvantages of doing a spring over, if any?

If you'll do a spring over (SOA) conversion in the back you'll have to install a 4" lift in the front and crank the front suspension up quite a bit to get it as close to level as possible (front and back). With a spring over you'll get about 6" of lift in the back. IFS is kind of hard to lift cheap... You probably don't want to convert the front to a straight axle just yet... but wait. :D

wlecome

Yup - I think 32s will be your best bet. Superlift does make a 4" suspension lift that is up for grabs all over the internet and at local stores. Order one today ha. Welcome.

4" should be plenty to get 33's on... but if you need it higer than that you might want to use a little bit of body lift... I did that once... cut 3" body lift blocks in half and with a little bit of finesse had everything on with no problem...

but that is a bit creative... you can just go with the 4" and forget everything else.

Good luck!

I would prefer the SAS but this won't be my bush truck.(thats what the '85Bronco out back is for) I just want to get some 33s under it so it can make it to the camp spots that we go to without destroying it.
