Another newbie

Just joined the forum and wanted to say hello. I've owned my 03 Explorer XLT since new, and I have just spent $3000 on a transmission...:thumbdwn: @ only 79,000 kms. (I got the O/D light flashing and the "service engine soon" message). I'm hoping to learn more about these "Exploders"....

I pick it up tommorrow, should of asked for the codes. There were 3 codes IIRC, took long getting out of first gear and slow to shift 2-3.
You think I got hosed with the repair bill? Would it have been an easy fix?
