Ok now I've got 4x4 problems. The switch on the dash has 2HI, 4HI, and 4LO. 2002 Sport trac.
This all happened after I disconnected the battery to reset some engine codes I had. After I reconnected, I had no 4x4 when I tried it 3 days later. I don't know if this would be related or not. (Just some extra info)
This is the problem.....Turn the switch on the dash to go into 4HI or when I put the truck into Neutral to go into 4LO and I don't get anything. No dash lights, no click from the passenger front kick panel, no familiar transfer case clunk as it goes into 4x4, NO NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!
Today, checked the transfer case shift motor and took it apart following brains thread, Click here, Transfer case shift motor looks fine inside and out. As a matter of fact, it almost looks new. Then went into the dash and pulled out shift switch and took that apart. I cannot tell but visually this looks good too.
So where do I go from here? I'm leaning towards the dash switch because I do not even hear a click at the 4x4 control module. If the switch was bad, I wouldn't hear a click at the 4x4 module or get dash lights, correct? If the 4x4 control module was bad, I wouldn't hear the typical transfer case shift clunk as it was shifting into 4x4, correct?
I need this fixed. I'm going up to my parents to ski this next weekend and I will probably need the 4x4.
Thanks.
