another stock sub replacement question...

I have a 97 mounty with the JBL and 6 disc changer. It has what I believe is a 6-6.5" sub which is blown. I want to cut the hole bigger and put an 8" sub and use the stock amp. Is the stock amp 4 ohm or 8 ohm? Will a Kicker Comp C8 work? It says the top mount depth is 4-1/8" and cutout diameter is 7-1/6"

Not sure about the amp but I believe the stock depth is right around 4" or less so I'm thinking you will probably need a spacer for that sub. My JL 8" sub I put in was just a smidge under 4" and fit perfectly.

I just compared the JL to Kicker on Crutchfield and they have the same top mount depth of 3-13/16" so I guess it will fit.

If the sub box from a '97 is the same depth as a '99 they it should fit perfect.
