Any gen 3 aftermarket kits for diff or trans case swap?

Hey all,

Long time lurker here, limited poster.

I have an 02 xls, which I use as my DD and bush truck.

I've got 275k on it and I've replaced the motor and trans case already with used gear.

I have the rear diff chatter and whine, -I've done the fluid thing already- and I have the 2nd to 3rd gear occasional false neutral in the tranny...

You know, all the standard stuff...


My question is... Are there any aftermarket kits that will let me bolt up some stronger more readily available componants in place of the factory IRS diff and chain drive trans case.


factory parts are way too pricey for the limited quality.

I'm right there with you. If you use you 3rd gen for more then mall crawling you will realize there are alot of week spots on the drivetrain.THere isn't much you can do with the t case but the rear end you can add a locker.

I don't know how into this you want to get but if you want to built it bullet proof it will cost a good bit. For my with my lift and 35s mine could use more power and more flex. My solution is cummins 12 valve swap after I finish my solid axle swap. The diesel swap is actually pretty cheap (3400 for the swap kit and a high milage 12 valve engine runs 600-800 then 700 for the rebuilt kit) but the solid axle swap is a bit expensive depending what route you go
