hey all, i want to make the leap from 4.10's to 4.56's to compensate for my 33" tires. i have found the richmond brand set on summitracing for about 250 bucks, but i also found a set on ebay for 145 bucks, with free shipping.

here is a link to the ebay set i found:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/380386873431?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:VRI&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2661

here's the link to the set i found on summitracing.com

i also noticed some ford racing brand sets. is there a difference between the ones they label "racing" and the other sets? any thoughts on buying a ring and pinion set from ebay? anyone ever get a set from ebay? the reason for al the questions is that i want to make sure i dont buy a set from ebay and have the thing fall apart on me after a few drives as opposed to getting a set from richmond or ford, but if its all the same, id like to save the cash because im planning on doing an aux light set up on my roof. thanks guys.

did you try 4wheelparts.com to compare prices?

the only thing with ebay is I don't think you get the lifetime warranty on the gears like you get through summit and 4wheel parts

thats good to know, i checked 4wheelparts and they have the same prices as summitracing pretty much. i will have to email the seller on ebay to ask them what warranty they offer. do you think the extra buck and change are worth it for the warranty?

well
I know a guy who bought gears for his 95 f-150 monster truck that was turning 44" tires on the 8.8 rear axle.

and he blew the gears up three times, and they replaced all of them. the only down side is you have to send them back all the pieces to get the new replacement gears.
but everything was free, including shipping so if something happens at least you can get a new set for free.

not that you want anything to go wrong!

but the way I seem to have luck! it would be worth it.
