Any suggestions for a rolling idle on an '02 4.6l?

Hi all,

I've got an '02 4.6l Explorer Eddie Bauer 4x4 w/145k on it and I've been noticing lately that it's developing a bit of a rolling idle while in park. It doesn't have any codes in it. Being lazy I put a can of Seafoam through the gas tank but that didn't help so I'm thinking it's probably an airflow issue.

Any suggestions on what to clean or not clean to try and smooth things out? From my Mustang 5.0 experience we had a routine of cleaning the MAF, TB, IAB etc that would clear up this so I have all the proper cleaners to do it just not sure if it's the same routine on the mod motors...thanks

02's and 03's have causes that can vary from the 04's and 05's.
Namely, there is a rubber elbow at the drivers side front of the throttle body area. It usually looks fine, but if squeezed should show cracks.

My first question to you would be wether or not you've disconnected the battery recently.
