I've spent the past 4 or 5 days trying to figure out how to upgrade my current system. the one 10" sub isnt doin it for me anymore. I have it all planned out for a new head unit, 6disc changer, 2 12" subs, boxes and amp. I havent picked out an amp or boxes yet, but adding it all up I'm looking at $2,000. I'm sure I can get $300-$350 for my sub and stealth box with amp. but $1,700 is still alot. Its not like it'll break me, but its not just a drop in the bucket. Now that its time to pull the trigger and buy the stuff, I cant seem to make myself do it.... anyone else go through this?

Maybe it has something to do with I know I still want a Lightning or somethin else thats actually fast....:(

Just don't do it!

If it's bothering you so much, just consider a smaller system, or build it up over time, just not at once.

From a financial point of view, dumping money into modifying your truck is the worst investment you can possibly make.

darn you and you're logic..that wasnt the answer i was lookin for!!!!!! lol. It doesnt really bother me a whole lot, but then I keep thinkin... 2grand...thats 2 grand.. but see if I dont buy this stuff, it will sit in the bank.. not like I'm givin up stuff to have it. Really though to buy it a little at a time wouldnt really help.. I'd still need a monster amp and its cheaper (so far) to buy one moster amp for both subs than two smaller ones.

Right now I'm thinkin that I save probably 80% of the money I get. I don't buy stuff I dont need very often. I want it, so why not? Its not like this stuff cant follow me to my next car.. Might need new boxes for the subs, but thats a minor thing. I dont go out and spend all my money and boos and drugs like most kids my age (i'm 19, and know people that at college spent 3gs on boos this year and maybe even more). Sorry, I'm rambling..just trying to justify it to myself :D

i have problems spending the money when i want something new....i just rethink it too much and how much it costs but i eventually do it......
its just jitters of spending so much money at one time....it kinda sucks

i know how you feel... you dont really want to but once you push the order button and have it on the way you feel so good!! you realize how good of an idea it was and you think why didnt i order this sooner?!? if you want to, just do it...

I know how you feel. I'm about to buy rims and tires and I feel the same way. Except there's no real way I can split the cost of that up. You can, just buy things one at a time. That's what I did when I got my system, I just started piling up the components in my bedroom until I had everything I needed, then it was off to the stereo shop.

Yea ive been working on my system for about 1 year now. Just know what you want and stick with it cause if you change your mind with one thing it usually screws up something else. Once you get it in you will forget about how much you spent.

ok, at least I'm not the only one. Actually lookin at different amps and stuff on ebay, i've got the total down from 2000 to just over 1000 without boxes. woohoo....too bad i'll be in NC for a month with no net access...guess itll have to wait....
