Anybody replaced a clutch in a 5-spd trans

:I'm having a heck of a time trying to replace the clutch in my 2002 XLS 4-door Expl.
Ford parts lists the clutch kit as obsolete! We've tried different clutch and pressure plates, but depth of the clutch/pressure plate and the number of splines are completely different.
Anybody run into this yet? Thanks, Bob

Just wondering, but have you looked into a clutch kit for a Ranger with the 4.0 motor?

Completely different. We're beginning to think that the flywheel is from Mustang, but haven't taken it any farther than that. Puzzling to say the least

Check out this post, it seems Ford had a 26 spline clutch for a short time in 2002.
