anyone know the difference between a GMC Typhoon AWD t-case and the Explorer AWD?

subject says it all!!!

I was wondering what the hp/tq limit is of the AWD t-case on the Explorer. I have been talking to a bunch of Typhoon guys that are putting 550+rwhp through 100,000 mile original t-cases without a problem.

Sounds a little crazy to me.

My buddy had a typhoon, at the time I thought they were the badest SUVS around! We used to race it at Atco. What fun that was.

Well, their T-case's were built for performance and have different tolerances. The Stock Explorer t-case is built for Mom to drive to the store and pick up the kids.

Remember most of us are doing 10x's the things that the stock X was ment for.
