Anyone have an idea what this is? Small Antenna mounted just above rear view mirror. On my 2000 XLT. Has a small button and a red led. Looks aftermarket.

No. Remote starters normally use a single wire coming out of the receiver as antenna.
Buy it's shielding I'd say something hi-gain.

It's an aftermarket alarm antenna. For sure. The button is the valet switch.
If you trace the wiring, it goes towards the drivers side, down the a pillar, and under the dash, where it's tapped into your ignition/etc.
Did you not get any fobs with it?

Only fobs I have are for the door lock/unlock.

Thanks though

After I looked online to see what DjDom mentioned, it does look like one. I have never heard of one, or have seen one.

Either a mobile phone booster antenna, or a Sirius/XM Radio antenna?

it's part of a remote start/alarm system, it's the valet mode, but, when programming the remotes you also have to push that button, probably a $500 touch

It has to be an alarm/starter/keyless system.

If it were a radio antenna or a booster, it wouldn't have the button on it.

And.. $500? More like $100 now..

the MIL paid $600 installed for a 2 way remote start with keyless and alarm.. has the same thing under the mirror...

;)
