My wifee is going to let me drop the X. I only want to do 2". I was reading the other post going for the gusto but some of the pics were to blurry to understand.

I was wondering if anyone in CT has lowered there X and would be willing to come over and help a fellow member out.

Thanks,
Mike

You can do this with the help of a friend tossing you tools. If you can change a tire you can lower your truck. The front is as simple as losening 2 bolts and the back all you have to do is stick some blocks between the axle and the leaf spring. Piece of cake.

Here ya go... Black Magic did an excellent write up on the process with good pictures.
Lowering

ok be honest how hard are putting the blocks on in back. also I was reading the 4 million post and im confused. maybe you could help me. do I take the 2 torsion bolts all the way out and just go put them in the garage untill I want to raise it up again. thanks bro.

You just losen the bolts until the height is where you want it. As for the blocks. I did my friends dakota yesterday with 2" blocks and got them and new shocks in in 25 min. (with a lift and air tools). Easy job tho if you have some jackstands and a floor jack.

You can do the lowering.

Here is the write up on my lowering....Dead Link Removed

Good luck....

The rear blocks are the most time consuming part of the job, namely getting the u-bolts into the shock plate. But hey, I did the whole lowering job myself and I'm only a 17 year old punk! So you can do it too.
