considering the navigation system is a $2,000 option Ford should send us an updated disc every year for as long as the orginal owner owns the vehicle. $149 to update something that is only a year old is ridiculous.

+1...That is ridiculous

What a bunch of whiners.

Happy 2007. :D

It's Navteq (data provider) selling the upgraded discs, not Ford.

Thanks for the info..... :D

I was interesed in getting this for my nav system so I called Navteq up and asked them how compatible their map is with the factory system. Turns out that there are six (6) discs that are needed to make the system work. When you are using one disc and cross over the threshold into another zone you need to change the disc. This sounds like a pain in the a$$ to me so I'm just going to stay with the factory map. I guess I can understand why there are so many discs with the amount of info you get but I just can't see driving down the road and changing out the map disc to continue on.

I think whoever you talked to is confused and thinking of Ford's older CD based garbage.
