Out of curiosity anybody know the specs? We know it is a computer so it must have a processor, RAM and storage space. And we know it is locked like an Apple so no tweaking darn it. But I would like to know what I am dealing with.:eek
:salute:

Try doing a search. It's been posted on this forum somewhere awhile ago.
Good luck.

Freescale i.MX51 SOC:
Core CPU: ARM Cortex A8 @ 600 mHz
512MB RAM
2GB NAND flash memory

Looks a little better then what I found on the inter net....is this the current one which I would have in my 2013 Explorer? Any way this answered my question. Thanks

Sync is not the same thing as Sync With My Ford Touch

These were the specs for the APIM in the 2011+ model. As far as I know nothing has changed in the hardware specs between 2011 and 2013 models, I do know that they changed some of the component vendors to try to mitigate issues w/ freezing and failing APIMs.

The specs are more than hefty enough to handle in-car infotainment, they however are not beefy enough to handle the resource hog known as flash which unfortunately is what MFT is based on.
