Are there any recalls I need to get done?

I'm just curious as my 97' explorer is currently in the shop (ill tell you about why later) but are there any recalls I can get done for free in the shop? I noticed there is a few for my Model & Year explorer.

How do I go about finding if they've already been done and getting it done free? My explorer has 180k miles.

If your Ex is at the dealer, just ask them. The will know what has been done and what needs to be done.

If you go to a Ford Service department, the first thing they do is run your VIN for recalls. If there are any you don't have, you'll get them, or they'll tell you need to get it done if they don't have the part.

You can mention to the service writer to check for recalls. But it is automatic. They do this because say, you leave the dealership without the cruise control harness being replaced. Six blocks later your car catches fire and kills your family (an awful thought, I know). FOMOCO will be liable. They won't even contest it.
