Just installed these on my X this weekend. WOW!!! What a difference in how my X stops. Best money I spent. They are worth it!

that's awesome, I'm looking at them as well. Heck they oughtta give me a group purchase deal since I'm wanting to buy rotors not only for the F-150 (front and rear disks) but also the explorer.

This guy dean gave me the group distcount for the group purchase that was done some time ago. Are you getting that?

I haven't even called ART yet about it because I've had so many other projects taking priority, the brakes are kind of "when they start going out" kinda thing.

they are cryogenically treated rotors. They can be found at www.appliedrotortechnology.com. So far everyone thats used em has sworn by em. I'm sure they are DOT approved, since they are much better then stock as far as stopping and keeping brakes cool, etc. You get em from the guy at ART, ask him for a quote, I have no idea what they run... yet...

well the link worked earlier! Wonder if they got a virus or something...

yeah, brought up a page that definately wasn't rotors :). I don't get it though, I typed the two addresses exactly similiar except one had the http:// as well as a / at the end, so who knows.

I love this BS...

Taken from the ART website home page...
"Slotting Advantage:
Slotting our rotors adds additional cooling by aiding the out-gassing effect, in turn increasing braking performance in wet & dry situations. "

If your brakes actually benefit from the slots out-gassing of the pads, then you probably also have to frequently tune your carburator and run leaded gasoline.

The "out-gassing effect" from brake pads has long-since been eliminated in almost every application. (almost = very few race cars still run the old-style pads) Out-gasing occurred with the old style brake pad compounds that used asbestos, as well as other elements that are no longer used in todays pads.
So the "out-gassing effect" is an old myth.

However, the slots DO prevent some glazing in extreme conditions, like heavy towing downhill or race applications. But, again, if you have a glazing problem, try using pads that cost more than 99 cents each.

I'll probably get some anyways, just because they look cool. Hey, at least i'm honest about why i'm buying them.

Depends on what year X you have. 91-94 uses front disks, & rear drums. So you would only get the front rotors/pads. 95-up have rear disks too. so you would get a set of 4 rotors/pads. If you swapped in a newer rear axle that had disk brakes in a old 91-94 X, then you would get the correct fornt rotors, for your year, but you would need to know the year.
