I recently purchased an audiobahn 12 inch subwoofer model AW1200X. I am trying to figure out the wattage of the sub. The book that came with it doesnt have ANY wattages at all in it. On the back of the sub it says 700 watts, So i assumed that meant the RMS is half of that. When I look on audiobahns web page, it tells me that its 700 rms. So does that mean that they rate their subs by RMS only or what?

they only rate the rms on everything, because that's all that matters.

Thanks leenjen, I figured youd be the one to answer..

a little tip:

if you really like a lot of loud deep bass, make your enclosure a little larger than the recommende enclosure size. i had the AW1205X and wasnt impressed with the performance in the recommended size enclosure (0.88 cuft. ported). so i made another one that was much larger (about 2.8 cuft. ported). that sub was amazing!
tons of bass. nobody could believe it was only a single 12"

is it really good to use a box bigger than recomended?? also, to me, it would be easier to go out and buy a box. but is it hard to make your, you have to facter in that im retarded also.

yeah, you can use a box that is larger than recommended. i went a little overboard and made a huge box. it's not that hard to make one. most prefab boxes are crap anyway.

with my old system (2 500w punch power amps with dvc he2 subs) i broke q-logic boxes three different times. i kept getting new ones for free, so i kept using them, but they are crap and they are actually imo someof the better prefab boxes

Hey, What kind of connection do I need to hook up my sub and amp to the stock head unit, I think there is a way to do it.? I probably will buy a head unit in the future, but right now I want to use the stock one, thanks for any help..

Also, What is the best way to reinforce a box that i have already purchased?
