Yet another problem with our 06 Explorer EB.

The fan now stays on 100% all the time. The blend door still directs air to the right vents and the temp control still works but the fan speed control is not responsive. When you turn it off, it still stays on 100% on defrost.

What's wrong with this thing. I'm guessing this is a pretty common problem as it seems that pretty much everything is a common problem when quality is job 37.

There's a few other posts reguarding this problem. Glad I dont have an 06'. sounds like they are possesed.

From what I've read, this sounds like a blower motor resistor gone bad. Anyone else have any ideas?

I had the same problem with dual auto zone, replaced the blower motor control moduel not the resistor you have to remove the glove compartment to replace the moduel.

Anyone have any pics? I've had the glove box off but pics would help.

Or a link to the part. I've only been able to find the blower motor resistor online.

Location of blower motor resistor

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, I am having problems with the blower fan on my 2002 Explorer. I have
lost all but the hi speed. Based on other posts it appears to be the blower resistor. Where is this located on a 2002. I did switch the fan relay with another to rule that out. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you ! Chisago Richard
