Today I was returning home from a trip, cruising betwen 140 kph and 160 kph, and after 30 minutes the od light on the dash began to blink. I dont worry because every time I cruise at those speeds do the same thing, but if I cruise at 100 or 120 kph the light wont blink at all. 30 minutes after the light began to blink I decide to slow down a bit and lift my foot of the accelerator and the engines rpm (2500 or 3000 rpm) began to decrease and when the rpm reaches the 1500 1000 rpm suddenly began a horryble nosie from beneath the truck, inmediatly I pull apart open the hood check the trans oil level and was ok and no noise at all. I decide to continue and pay attention to the trans shifttings and they where ok, all the shifts where absolutely normal but the noise came back every time I retire the foot from the accelerator and the engine rpm drop below 1500 rpm, the engines began to idle like the trans where in neutral until the speeds drops and the trans engages the proper shift and everything is back to "normal" again. finally I decide to cruise betwen 80kph and 100 kph keeping the speed constantly to avoid the noise. By the way two days ago I let the explorer idling with the ac on for 20 minutes and began to burn oil from the exhaust and when I began to roll smoke the entire block, after I roll 50 meters the smoke dissapear and never came back. I apologyse for the extensive writing but every time I fell in love with my explorer she let me down with this kind of gremlims.
