Bought an 07 Explorer about 2 months ago from a dealership, with in just a few days it started dying on me, mostly accelerating from a stop, took it back for repair and they guessed fuel pump, got it back everything seemed ok and working, about a week later while driving on the highway the engine started a small ticking-loss of power, I turned around and drove back to the dealership where I got it from and the whole 30 mile trip back the condition worsened with quick massive losses of power and dying continuously on the last mile in, so about a week later I got it back, dealer said they replaced the coil, 3 plugs, 3 wires. Drove it for about a month with almost no issues (about 2 times it acted up but went away after being turned off and back on) but about a month in to the repair (they said) it was back to dying and loss of power and then re-gain while driving over and over. I called the dealer and was out of the 30 day warranty so I got told sorry (the finger). Now 2 things, it always seems to act up when the AZ temp is about 105+, I was in California for a week driving most of the time with no issues but temps were 70s & 80s. On my way back to AZ it acted up again and I barely made it home. So today I replaced the coil plugs and wires (the dealer never replaced anything-still had original parts). After the replacements I started it back up and it worked great, drove for about 20 mins (in the morning hours) no problems, but I just drove this afternoon with temp of 107 and having the same issues. Any help? Its acts like a coil problem but I just replaced that, anyone have some ideas about what could be wrong? Thanks.
