battery gauge almost in the high red whats wrong?

quick question my mom has a 2003 explorer xlt,4x4, 4.0 with 102,000 miles the battire gauge is in the high (3/4) the battery is 3 years old and i replaced it and it is still in the high the truck is all stock with no sound systems or extra equipment I have checked the ground could it be the voltage regulator or the alternator? your input is appreciated!

To me Sounds like alternator is overcharging. ( I'm no expert )
I had this problem in a Mazda a few years ago
Best bet is get an auto elecy to test it out before you burn out some of electrical system

Put a voltmeter on the alternator, anything higher than 14 volts the regulator is bad.
