I use my '96 XLT for city driving and 28 miles of bad road to my place in the mountains. The suspension is stock except for the Monroe Air shocks I just put on the back. Haven't been on the bad road yet to see how they work. I am looking for modifications that will keep the washboard effect to a minimum and reduce the rocking back and forth. I am not looking to do a full off road modification, at least not yet.

Any help you can provide will be appreciated.

Thanks, John G

RS 9000's,AAL and TT

I don't think an AAL (add-a-leaf) will help anything. Stock Explorer leafs are pretty harsh as it is. I've heard the OME (Old Man Emu) leafs do a great job on washboards though.

I agree on the RS 9000's, also as low air pressure as is safe.
