hi guys i have a few questions how do i stop my belt from squeaking after water got on my belts from water puddles we've been getting like 2 to 4 inches of rain for two weeks now and is definetly squeaking not chirping so is there a fix for this or just need new belt?

second question i noticed my belt tensioner bounce a little bit when the belt runs around it does that mean its bad or not? i know how to changes these parts so its no problem just wana make sure before i start fixing stuff that dont need to be fixed. and last but not least if this squeaking is my belt slipping what should i expect to experience rough idle, power loss, etc. the specifics would really be a big help guys thanks in advance

come on

come on guys no one has experienced these problems at all or is there no resolution for it

I just changed my belt today bc the tensioner was working constatly and had a chirp everytime the RPMs dropped, just inspect the belt and pullys, I dont believe water would do that but maybe dirt in the water...? just give it all a check it only takes a few minutes, espicially if you know what your doing. report back

water would actually silence a squeaky belt....

I would try to get a new belt and see if that solves the problem...replacing a tensioner is a PITA on a 5.0, I did it when i removed my fan.

thanks guys

i will need to replace my belt luckily i have the 4.0 so not too much to wory about when changing out the belts any way to tell when the tensioner is going bad?

the spring will stick ( when you push on it to take the belt off) and the wheel spins freely... some one correct me if im wrong
