What are the somewhat cheap, but reliable front and rear shocks for a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT with a 2" TT, Shackles, and a 3" body lift? :salute:

Anyone?

Bilstein 5100 series shocks are best bang for the buck not super cheep but there reliable and give you an excellent ride

for the front you can use standard length shocks since you didn't change the travel at all. In the rear you could probably get away with standard ones too since you are only lifted 2". I have the Bilstein HD shocks (stock length) on all 4 corners and I love them. I know a lot of people like the Rancho adjustable shocks too. talk to the people at shockwarehouse.com they have great deals, and I think you get an EF discount there too if I remember correctly.

Thanks Elessar65! Appreciate it!

Yeah thers ALOT of threads on this topic already type shocks into search bar and take a pick but i love the rancho 5000s so far

Another vote here for the Rancho RS5000 have had them for 4 years and love them. Little stiffer ride but it pays off on the trails.

I do not like my Edelbrocks.
yup I've tried them twice, worst shocks, they suck. Tried again on another truck thinking maybe I got a bad set, nope. They work decent at first then after a month or two start getting worse and worse. Heard samething from other IAS users. Installed Monroe Reflex, much much better, excellent shocks. Firm control but smooth too, mine are only just now starting to get harsher and need replacement, not bad for about 50-60K miles on that set.
