What are the highest quality spark plug wire that you can buy, for an explorer that is?

There are a lot of good wires out there. I like Magnacore and jacobs.

splitfire!!!

hehehe

I just use the Motorcraft replacements. They're inexpensive and of very good quality. As long as they're in good condition, IMO they're as good as the others.

Why go nuts?

I got mine at NAPA $30?
The coil side has only one clip and they are easy put on (not that you have to take em on or off)

They're good quality and have to be in the ?95th? percentile!

Don't forget the silicone for both ends - you may know that....... you'll thank yourself the next time you try to pull off the boot at the plug.

Jacobs have good wires but they are too expensive for my tastes. I am going to buy splitfire wires within the next week or so. They have a rebate for $15 per wire set so that brings them to about $35 (for the 4.0 v6). Go to www.splitfire.com for info on the rebate.

I agree with IgotTwo. I bought NAPA wires (made by Belden). These were reasonably priced and fit perfectly.

Sorry guys for being so simple ...... I 've got myself bound up so many times in the past in search of unattainable excellence..... I've learned, most of the time, " it really doesn't matter" ......

The thing to avoid is letting your bull **** filter get clogged up by some slick marketing firm that makes up stuff you should never have to worry about, else you may run the risk of "attacks of indecisions" or "paralysis of analysis"

If you go with a reputable outfit or name.. you have the best chances of being are "OK"

But it is always good to bounce it off "the posse"..you're not going to get any better feedback than here.
(Besides, no one person knows everything.)

MSD wires have real low resistance and are reasonably priced, but stock replacements are fine for a near stock vehicle. My motto is "If I'm going to the trouble of replacing it, then I'm going to replace it with something better." So, when mine need replacing, I'll be using some MSD's.

Taylor makes a nice plug wire. A set for my 5.0 was $61.69 from Summit.
