Hey everyone, im new here, I guess I'd finally join an Explorer/mounty forum.
But my question is pretty simple and probably been answered before, however I tried searching and came up with nothing.....
I have a 2004 Mountainer v8 AWD, the tires I have on it right now are starting to crack pretty badly....at only 16k miles on the truck!!!!!!!
The tires I have now are P235/70R16, and they look pretty small on the truck.
I just wanna know how big and wide I can go without throwing the speedo off alot and not rubbing.....
With STOCK rims.
The guys at the tire shop said I could go 245/75 no problem......But that's really not alot bigger I dont think....maybe im wrong.
It looks like I got PLENTY of room under there.....
Im just lookin for a good set of Sand or Mud tires....havent decided yet.
I dont plan on really doing any Off-roading, but it's probably gonna spend some time in the sand.....actually the AWD works GREAT in the sand with stock tires, so having a better set of tires should work wonders for me.
Any suggestions for tire size or tires?
Thanks.
