2017 Explorer Limited 3.5
Hey guys, picked up a 2017 Explorer Limited recently (new to us)
3.5L VCT Ruby Red, Black interior…real cherry! Currently deleting chrome.
Anyway, I join the group as I pulled out in traffic… Well….floored it, and next intersection got the safety shudder, and engine light.
AC also went hot but all just for about 30 s.
I put the scanner on it and threw a bunch of 0300 codes. Guessing she’s gonna need some coils and plugs soon. The truck has about 96,000 on it. Anyone experience this? Thanks guys look forward to the fellowship!

Welcome to the Group! Unfortunately You killed it. I'll be over tomorrow to take it off your hands..... LOL, Just kidding. Besides whats been stated, could just be from sitting around, or with a Light foot prev owner

Welcome. Nice looking Explorer.

Welcome to this forum! Check the coils with an Ohmmeter. Did you check the condition of the spark plugs?
I didn’t yet. Fortunately coils and plugs turn out to be cheap compared to other makes! I just replaced a coil for a CX5 Mazda we passed over to our son (which the explorer is replacing). One coil was $170!! if my math is right I can update the ignition for less than 250…coils AND plugs.
Top of my short list for sure! Thanks šŸ™šŸ¼
