Bleeding brakes on a 95 Ranger with 4 wheel ABS.

I replaced the brake lines from the HCU of the ABS. Now that I have the new lines on I need to bleed the brakes. Tried this yesterday with help of neighbor. He put pressue on the brake pedal and I loosened the bleed screw on the right rear wheel. NOTHING. Note the battery was disconnected and the ignition off. I read in the Haynes that no air should get into the HCU. Need help.....thanks.....
