I have a 99 Ranger with the 3.0 Flex Fuel with auto trans. When I drive it after about 5-10 miles the OD light starts blinking and starts shifting late, it seems to shift a little late without the OD light blinking but gets worse when the light comes on. It shifts hard because of the high RPMS but doesn't seem to be slipping at all. it also doesn't downshift properly.
This all started happening after I replaced the tensioner and a couple of pulleys because of a belt squeal. I don't really see how messing with the belt could affect the trans unless I hit some wires or something, but it didn't have this problem at all before I changed the tensioner and pulleys.
I replaced the speed sensor and will check the wires today.
Anybody have any suggestions?
