I just went through the hassle of replacing the heater core in my '05 V8 Explorer. However I have a few remaining questions:

1. The Blower now does not work - any thoughts? I can see the actuators moving when toggling the direction selector switch (I actually had to repair this part of the system as it would only come out of defrost previously) and I can hear actuators moving on the temperature (manual) control. However, there is nothing with the Blower switch - at all setting. It was working fine prior to the core replacement.

2. I was able to find homes for all of the connectors when reattaching the instrument panel, except for the Heater Vacuum control Switch (Ford Part #1L2H-19A523-AA).The lines coming in to/out of it go to other connections, but the switch itself is kind of just hanging and the spring loaded depressible button on it obviously will remain out if it is just hanging. I did a poor job of noting where I disconnected this from. Does anyone know where it belongs and could it be related to my Blower issue?

3. Like an idiot, I dropped one of the Evaporator/Blower assembly nuts that secure the assembly to the firewall and cannot retrieve or find it. This is a rather large nut which includes at least an inch of integrated washer. My guess is that it is sitting on top of the Transmission and I cannot seem to reach it or shake it loose. I am guessing that it will not hurt anything as I do not want to drop the transmission to get it. Should I be concerned?

Thanks for reading the long post. This thread was copied from the 2002-2005 Stock Explorers Forum.

Thanks,

Dan

Update:

Last night my quick drive around the block did manage to dislodge the washer. However, I still would appreciate any insight on the first two questions.

I should also mention that I can feel heat from the vents and can seem to control how hot that air is with the blend door setting (so I am pretty sure that the blend door is working). But, the blower will not come on.

Thanks,

Dan
