Title says it all. I ordered pa 853 from ebay summit today, and it should be here this weekend or early next week. Got it for $170 shipped to my front door. I'll post more as more happens! :D

I am pretty sure you cannot do half a body lift, the body lift is spacers between the body and the frame, where doing a SOA will raise your suspension, you might wanna search some more before trying that out, it doesn't sound right to me.

AMMO_HOOAH good luck with the lift, start spraying the bolts down now, i hope you have impact tools too! I had a fun filled weekend putting mine on.

Sounds dangerous actually. THats a lot of stress on the bolts.

Anyways what tires you going to put under the truck when your done with your bl?

Shouldn't be any more stress than normal, all your'e doing is sloping the bl to the back so it evens out, although the SOA is like 6" and the bl is only 3".

Evens it out appearance wise, i thinking sloping is the wrong term, it makes it sound gradual, you going from bolting to the frame to 3" which is a lot of distance sitting off the frame as compared to stock. Yes, the bl is only 3" how do you make up the rest?

Don't want to steal a thread here but I know someone that did the sloped BL / SOA and he had nothing but problems. I am sure you could NEVER get the caster right and it would probibly be all over the road everytime you hit a bump. I don't reccomend it but its your truck.

As far as having problems go I'd go with those that tried it, but as for extra stress there wouldn't be would there?

OH, and the bl will be here today!

i saw someone on the forum do it....i would never do it to my truck and to make up the other 3 inches TT 2 inches and have a mild rake.

Well the rubber busing will only move so much. I imagine bent body bolts will happens as theres isnt a lot of play in those rubber mounts.

So I don't jack this thread I am starting a new one in this same area, please respond about 'nothing but problems'

Ok so it's not what the instructions say it's the title that is important. Can someone spot what I'm talking about?

For those that care here is what it says:

1. Locate the mounting flange for the steering column under the dash
2. Unbolt the flange from the firewall
3. Drill out the holes in the flange toward the top as far as possible
4. Pull the steering column down as far as possible
5. Reinstall the bolts and tighten

Ignore that.

Actually I was just amazed that it actually says "Ford Ranger and Explorer Add-In Kit 853, " so are they admiting it fits?

Nope. This kit is for the 93-97 ranger and 91-94 explorer

Negative good buddy, the 793 is for the 90-94 ex, the only thing listed for the 853 is the Ranger unless I'm missing something:

Mate , I've just bought a 792x2 which is for the pre 95 models but I have a 9/99 xlt .A bloke out here fitted 792 with little fuss and I'm about to do the same when my kit gets here .The guys name is Adam Berger,The thread he put in with photos is called "2"body lift installation on a 99 ex " He also recommends looking at another site for information which I have also looked at and it gives good info for my install Do a lot of reading to see what suits you for your needs .Even a 2" lift looks pretty cool and safe
