Hello Everyone,
This is my first post but not my first Ford truck. Had a 1979 Bronco with 10+ inches of lift, 351w, 4 speed. That truck went just about anywhere my 80 IH Scout went. Now it's time for a kinda family truck so I just picked up a 1996 EB Explorer. Just did the 4" Superlift and Worrior shackles.
Here is my question, even before the lift the truck sat crooked leaning to the drivers side. I thought maybe the springs in the rear were sagging or it was just the parking lot. Now that it's lifted it is still leaning about one inch. The body lift will be done soon but it's real annoying
Any suggestions or tips would help and I did do the TT lift so that's not the reason.
I really look foward to talking with everyone here, it seems like a cool place.
Thanks,
Joe :exp:

Welcome to the site. Another LI guy.

They all sag over time towards the drivers side due to the weight of the gas tank and driver. Some have swapped the leaf springs from one side to the other. Some have replaced or had the leaf springs re-arched. A search will probably give you all the info you need. Good luck.

Shhhh you said the BL word. Majority of the people here hate BL and will tell you not to do it.

Welcome to the site.

My suggestion put the tank and steering wheel on the other side. HaHa ha

SPLODO49 OOOOOOOPS Sorry about the BL.
I thought about swappin to right hand and get a job with the post office :)

LeeS, I'm in Lindenhurst and work in Sayville.

Thanks guys, I'll do a search and see what I find.

Right Hand Drive

Well If he just did a 4 inch suspension lift I would assume that he has just changed the real leaf springs to new ones SO if this is the case then I would try adjusting the torsion bars to help even out the ride.

OR you can do like I did and move the steering wheel to the RIGHT side vs the WRONG side. :D

Oh Yeah BODY LIFTS RULE!!

a lot of peopel here use and like bodylifts... and contrary to popular belief there has been no proof that says there is any real disadvantage to a bodylift.....

Chris Miller, how hard was it to move the steering wheel :)
Really, how bad was the body lift, I've done them before but they were for the trucks I put them in. Some here are saying the steering shaft extender that come with the kit won't work and some are saying that you don't need it.
How bad was yours,
Joe

My kit came with one and worked. Been on for years.

might take a measurement at the frame on each side to see if the entire truck is sitting unleve (susp related) or of the body is just sitting unlevel (body mount problem)

Steering Adaptor

The streering wheel was really easy to move as it sorta came that way from FORD.. :D

The steering adaptor was very easy and fit perfectly. I used a PA883 kit and did not experience any problems at all with the sterring column extender. I simply removed the column bolt, slid the existing colum down, added the adptor, and slid it back up into the steering column. It did not bind or feel any different after it was all done. BUT my steering wheel being on the other side might have more or less clearance than does yours. The KODAK pictures show mine, you would have to compare it to yours.

NOW the BUMPER BRACKETS are an entirly different story.
