Ok, I'm missing several sockets in my socket set. From what I can figure, it's probably a 10mm. anybody know for sure? I know as soon as I buy the socket I'll find it...

Argh! Not only did I find the 10mm socket AFTER I'd used the new one, but after spending almost 2 hours in the cold replacing the $&%#ing thermostat, the guage still doesn't come up past the cold line. ARGH! I'm so cold right now I can barely type. That last bolt was horrible to get in, I used two small exensions with a universal joint, and a screwdriver to hold the socket where it needed to be. At one point I dropped it and spent 25 minutes looking for the stupid thing, How it found it's way to the far left, when the only way it could have bounced is to the right, I have no idea.
So now I continue to have heat in the truck, the guage still stays on 'C' and I now have a new thermostat. The temp sending unit is probably next, right? I just called Autozone and the sending unit for the dash is $17.99. I'll buy one tomorrow. Does anybody know on the 4.0 engine if the sending unit is the one right next to the thermostat? If so, how hard is it to get to? It's gotta be easier than the thermostat, right?

Did you put the thermostat in the right direction and burb the system?

I put in the new thermostat the same way the old one came out, and made sure the release thing was at the top. I then filled the radiator until it was full, put the cap on tight, and started the engine. It ran about a 1/2 hour. Getting plenty of heat, no temp guage change. Should I do something else? How do you burp it?

Try taking off the cap and running the engine... Fill it while it is running..
