Bottom of radiator plastic housing

I see that many people have removed the lower wind dam/faring from their front bumpers, exposing that ugly plactic radiator housing. Some people do not have that black plastic protruding from the bottoms of their vehicles so I'm guessing they removed it. Does any bracketry have to be fabbed to replace the function of this plastic housing?

If I can get an answer to this, I'll probably do this mod this weekend. Thanks in advance.

I cut all but about 3" off mine to prevent the bottom of the radiator from being scratched.

No, you don't have to do anything besides removing it.
