i need to paint my rear hatch pillars which are currently faded black, and turn them white. i need this to look as good as i can. but i'm not sure how i can go about doing so and what all to include. if anyone has pictures of ohters who have done this i'd love to see them.

but any ideas are welcome

thank in advance

You talking the outside, right? not interior?

thats correct the outside i forgot to mention that

I just did mine a few weeks back when I did my wing project. The hardest part was letting go of the factory paint. :( Since I knew I would have to get the paint proffessionally done, I went ahead and shave everything in the hatch. Including emblems, key hole, 2 black trims top and bottom. I'm still undecided on the rear wipers though.

Heres a shot of it while I was working on it.

but to get on the inside between the window i'd have to open the window then mask everything off right?

heres an example of what i want to have it look like

just tape off, sand, wash, primer, paint, clear coat?

Yep, sounds too easy doesn't it? :D The only thing you have to worry about is the color of the paint. There are different shade of color white, for example. If you don't get the same one you are not gonna be happy with it. That is why I left mine primered to be done by the paint shop.

i already have some spray paint that is the same color of my truck. i already painted my wind jammer with it, and it matches pretty damn closely, its not exact but its very close (since my truck paint is probably faded a little) but then again it won't be right up against the white body so it won't be as noticable, right?

Correct. Since you already have the paint tried out, you are good to go. :) Don't forget to post a before and after shot!

i have my rear quarter panels and front and rear painted bumper covers up for sale....

they'd sure look nice on the truck along with the painted pillars and they already match

yeah i just wanted to get peoples thoughts on it just in case there is an easy and hard way to do this...

i'll try to picture document it for others

i'd be on them in a min but i have no money...and i'd still have grey fender flares and other various trim peices so that won't work but thanks for letting me know :)
